| Jan
Michels stays with Den Bosch |
31 July 2002
|
|
Jan Michels is staying with Den Bosch after signing a
new contract for two years. It was originally thought that the club's poor
financial situation, and their relegation at the end of last season, would mean
that the flexible midfielder would be leaving for pastures new. 'It's
unbelievable, after having had a good season with Den Bosch, that noone has
seriously been interested in having me", he told provincial newspaper the 'Brabants
Dagblad'. Den Bosch's technical manager Fred van der Hoorn and coach Gert Kruijs
had said they would welcome him back at the ECCO stadium and now the
money from Mourad Mghizrat's sale to Willem II has made it possible to offer
him a deal. Although Michels had been offered a last minute trial with a foreign
club he's decided to return to familiar territory.

| Willem
II sign Mourad Mghizrat |
29 July 2002
|
|
After prolonged negotiations Willem II have
finally signed Den Bosch's Mourad Mghizrat on a contract for 3 years. Talks
ran into difficulties when the Tilburgers refused to pay the 200,000 Euro
asking price. The 27 year-old will now be joining an old acquaintance in
coach Mark Wotte who he worked with when the former Jong Oranje coach was
trainer at Den Bosch and Utrecht. Mourad, who had also been linked with a
possible move to RBC Roosendaal and Excelsior, was proving too much of a
financial burden for Den Bosch who were one of the clubs who had trouble
qualifying for their 2002/2003 licence. Despite having played what was
probably his best season ever the former Sparta and Utrecht player was
allowed to leave, even though the winger's contract still had some time to
run.

in the course of today. Aerts, who was sidelined at Den Bosch last year
when he was caught with traces of cocaine in his blood, will be competing
for a place in goal with Wim de Ron, who's currently sick with a
gastro-intestinal infection.

Belgian player Gunther Thibaut who was playing last season for Cypriot

van den Ouweland. The midfielder was a regular feature of the
"Tricolores" reserve team.

| No
licence yet for TOP Oss and Den Bosch |
05 July 2002
|
The
Dutch FA (KNVB) have rejected Top Oss' and FC Den Bosch's application for
a licence for next season. There are still question marks concerning the
clubs' financial situation but they will be appealing against the
decision. TOP Oss were on the edge of bankruptcy and only a massive effort
has prevented them from going bust. Chairman Paul Lansaat expects that his
club will be granted a licence once the KNVB have examined the 'books' in
order to see how the club managed to achieve a sound budget for next year.
FC Den Bosch have been given three weeks to clear certain debts they still
owe the Dutch inland revenue (tax-authorities) and the players' pension
fund before they qualify for a licence. The club is considering the sale
of their stadium in order to raise the 1 million Euros needed and they
expect to be granted their licence in the next few days. |
| Den
Bosch without licence |
03 July 2002
|
| Den
Bosch are currently without a licence and need to clear some old debts
before being given the go-ahead to continue as a professional club in the
Eerste Divisie next season. The Dutch FA (KNVB) have given the club 3
weeks to sort out their problems but chairman Bert Kersten expects that
they will get their licence and start their new season on schedule in
August. Fortuna, Sparta and NAC are all in the same predicament and are
appealing against the KNVB's decision.
