Cambuur sign three new players

Eerstedivisie outfit Cambuur Leeuwaarden have added three new additions to their squad for next term. The trio have been  selected by the club's new manager Dick de Boer, who hopes  that the club will do better that last season in which the club were dealt several embarrassing defeats which lead to the dismissal of former coach Rob McDonald.
The new signings are Zwolle defender Henk van Steeg, Dordrecht midfielder Van Zundert  and Telstar midfielder, Ilo.

Eerstedivisie club Cambuur Leeuwaarden have appointed ex-Volendam player Dick de Boer as their new trainer. De Boer, who joined Cambuur last month, is currently the club's assistent trainer and head of their youth scheme. However, after several dramatic results last season, the ex-Utrecht youth coach will now be replacing sacked coach, Rob McDonald.
Helmond sign Cambuur's Maikel Ferrier

Helmond Sport have signed Cambuur Leeuwarden defender Maickel Ferrier on a two-year contract with an option for one more season.  The 27-year-old has been playing for Cambuur Leeuwarden s ince 1998 after a brief period  with Italian club Salernitana.

Cambuur Leeuwarden have announced that they are not going to extend the contracts of five players in the 1st team squad: Ferdino Hernandez, Henny van Schoonhoven, Dirk Jan Derksen, Mickael Ferrier and Jelmer Slager are the unfortunate five. The Friesland club will also be making cuts in their youth programme while assistant-trainer Henny Lee, who was responsible for the touth team, has also been told to start looking for a new employer. The current financial crisis in Dutch football (and elswhere) has forced management to make cuts in order to ensure that the club will survive. 
Cambuur thrashed 1-6 at home by Eagles

After having lost 1-7 to Heracles in November, their biggest defeat since 1958 ! , Cambuur were once again confronted with an enormous defeat. this time losing 1-6 at home to Go Ahead Eagles. Dick Kooimand the score in the 17th minute with his 1st of 3 goals of the evening. After Coen Brak (26th) and Ugar Yildirim (30th) had increased the lead to 3 goals, Cambuur finally managed to pull one back via Durmusoglu (43rd) for the 1-3 half-time score. In the 61st minute of the second half Kooiman netted his second of the evening and 3 minutes later was once again on target to make his hat-trick complete. Just 1 minute later Maikel Ferrier poured more salt into Cambuur's wounds with an own Goal.
olendam beat Cambuur 4-3

Volendam had their hands full dealing with Cambuur this afternoon after the visitors twice took the lead.  After Dian Esajasd for Volendam in the 23rd minute of the game, Cambuur took control of the match, deservedly equalizing in the 33rd via Lionel Lord and, 2 minutes later, going into the lead via their top scorer Jan Bruin.  Although Karim Bridji equalized for Volendam in the 45th minute Cambuur were once again back in front via Dirk Jan Derksen, also scoring in the 45th. After the break Volendam were the better side and within 9 minutes the score was once again level when Sebastian Steur found the back of the net with his first goal of the season. In the 73rd Volendam's top scorer Maurice Buys, nudged in the winner, his 6th of the season.

Both teams dropped valuable points this evening in their quests to stay in touch with the Eerste Divisie leaders. The visitorsd the score in the 10th minute, Jan Bruin equalized via a penalty in the 61st.
Cambuur win 2-4 at Sparta

Cambuur Leeuwarden stay in touch with the table toppers after last night's 2-4 win at, and against, Sparta, thanks to a hatrick by Lionel Lord. Lordd in the 19th, doubling the score in the 40th but Denni Conteh got one back only a minute later. Danny Koevermans drew the home team level in the 64th but only 60 seconds later Jan Bruin nosed Cambuur ahead again and Lord added his 3rd for the 2-4 in the 75th.
Cambuur thrashed by Heracles

Heracles made amends for their defeat last week by Haarlem, thrashing Cambuur at home 1-7,  Man of the night was Rick Platvoet, scoring an amazing 5 goals.  Platvoetd the score in the 23rd minute of the match and increased the lead to 0-2, 2 minutes later. Although Ferdinand Katipina made it 1-2 in the 25th, the visitors soared ahead, Platvoet making it 1-3  in the 38th and Yuri Rose bringing the 1-4 half-time score on the board in the 41st.
After the break Rick Platvoet was twice again on target, scoring the 1-5 in the 59th and 3 minutes later the 1-6 with his 5th goal of the evening. Rachid Tabari put more salt into Cambuur's wounds in the 71st minute of the match by making it 1-7 , bringing Cambuur their biggest defeat since 1958 !.
Telstar beat Cambuur 3-2

After 4 consecutive wins Cambuur were starting to look like serious contenders for the Eerste Divisie crown but tonight they dropped 3 valuable points, losing 3-2 to Telstar. Although Cambuurd the score via Ferrier in the 9th minute of the match, they went into the break trailing 2-1 after goals by  Levant (21st) and top-scorer Melvin Holwijn (32nd). 4 minutes into the second half Cambuur drew level via Katapina. In the 85th minute of the game Melvin Holwijn made it 3-2 for Telstar with his second goal of the evening, taking his season's tally to 7.
Cambuur beat Den Haag 2 - 1

Eerste divisie leaders Den Haag were treated to their first defeat of the season and now drop to 2nd place. 2 second half goals by Dominique van Dijk in the 48th and 81st minute of the game and a Romeo Castelen consolation goal 5 minutes before time made up for the somewhat dreary 1st half.

Cambuur beat Fortuna 2-1

There seems to be no end to Fortuna's disastrous begin to season. Fortuna were hoping for better after last week's 2-0 win over highly placed Telstar (their first ever win in the Eerste Divisie) but are probably dismayed with yet another defeat this evening. After almost an hour's goallessness Cambuur went into the lead via Katipana in the 54th minute. Jan Bruin increased the lead to 2-0 in the 86th minute, rectifying having himself missed a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. Fortuna-forward Barneveld netted a consolation goal 2 minutes into extra time.

Cambuur win 2-3 at Dordrecht

Cambuur booked a 2-3 away win at Dordrecht, going ahead with goals by Angelo Martha and David Rogers, Romeo van Aerde and Dennis van der Pennen drawing Dordrecht level before Kenan Durmusoglu got the match winner in the 90th minute. 
Cambuur lose to Eindhoven 0 - 1

Cambuur lost their 3rd game of the season tonight, this time Eindhoven proved to be too good for the homeside. Cambuur thought they had at least managed a draw until Eindhoven's Ties Konings whammed one home in injury time. Cambuur now drop to unlucky 13th position.
Cambuur hire German youth international

Cambuur-Leeuwarden have signed German youth international Manuel Bölstler on a loan deal from VFB Stuttgart for the rest of the season.  Manuel is well known over the border as a 'real' no.10 with ability to read the game and is also equally capable with both feet.  The 19 year-old has turned out for various of his country's youth teams from the Under 14s to the Under 19s, is 1 metre 81 cm tall and weighs 77 kilos. Cambuur have beaten off several other interested clubs to obtain his services before the transfer market closes.

Cambuur made amends for last week's defeat at Haarlem with a convincing 4 - 1 win against VVV.  Jan Bruin scored a first half hattrick with goals in the 9th, 17th and  22nd minute.  Bas Jacobs pulled one back for VVV in the 16th minute. Cambuur defender Tied Heldens put the final score on the board in the 78th minute. VVV remain bottom of the table,so far having lost all of their games this season.

Haarlem, who lost their first game of the season 7-0 away to Heracles last weekend, were able to make more of an impression this evening against Cambuur Leeuwaarden. Rick Hooyboer was the man in form, scoring both goals for the homeside in the 31st and 52nd minutes of the match.

English defender Dave Rogers scored in his first match for his new club in the 39th minute to give Cambuur the points in this local derby. Both teams had chances in this tough meeting but Rob McDonald's team claimed the points.

Eerste Divisie Cambuur Leeuwarden won theirng match of the Amstel Cup in Group 19 against amateurs SC Genemuiden 0-7. In Group 18 another Eerste Divisie side Go Ahead Eagles beat amateurs Hoogeveen 0-10.  
Heerenveen lose youth players to Cambuur

Heerenveen are losing two of their youth players to Eerste Divisie rivals  Cambuur Leeuwarden. Lionel Lord and Harvey Bisschop, whose contracts at the Abe Lenstra stadium run out this summer, have both signed contracts for 2 years. 
Cambuur sign English defender

Cambuur Leeuwarden have signed English defender Dave Rogers on a contract for one season with an option for one more. The 27 year-old, who has been on two weeks trial with the Eerste Divisie side, comes from Carlisle United. He played 31 matches for the Third Division side last season, and was even the team captain for a while, but has not been offered a new deal.  Cambuur have also offered their youth players Ale Geert de Vries (22), Anno Herder (17) and Jelmer Slager (21) a new contract.
