Zwolle trial for Dane Marten Olsen

Newly promoted Zwolle have offered Danish midfielder Morten Olsen a trial. The 23 year-old was playing for B93 but is now transfer-free and was on trial with another Danish club AB. However, they look to be having trouble sorting out the necessary cash to seal a deal and he could make enough of an impression on Paul Krabbe's successor Peter Boeve to earn himself a contract in Holland.
Promes hopes for deal with Zwolle

Marino Promes is hoping to earn himself a contract with Zwolle during a trial with the newly promoted side. The 25 year-old  forward has been told there's no contract extension for him at De Graafschap. Promes has been with the Doetinchem side since 2000 and before that turned out for Willem II and Haarlem. He's been joined by 23 year-old Danish defender Morten Karlsen who comes from Cagen's B 93 where he's been since 1998.
John den Dunnen signs for Dordrecht'90

John den Dunnen has signed a 3-year contract with Dordrecht '90. The striker has been under contract to Sparta since 1995 and was lent out to Zwolle in 2000. Zwolle's former coach Paul Krabbe had promised him a new deal if the team won the Eerste Divisie title but Krabbe, despite teh club becoming champions and gaining promotion, was sacked and Den Dunne didn't get offered a new deal.
FC Zwolle threaten to leave Zwolle!

FC Zwolle have threatened to leave the town of Zwolle if the local municipal council refuse to speed up a decision on  whether or not to give permission for the construction of a new stadium.  With their recent promotion to the Ere Divisie in mind the club want to push ahead with their plans for new accomodation. Although there have been plans for the last 6 years to build a new stadium, last week the council 'suddenly' began to have doubts concerning the location itself and the investment of €16 million Euros involved!
Peter Boeve new Zwolle coach

Peter Boeve has been named as the new coach at FC Zwolle and he's signed a contract for two years. The 45 year-old succeeds Paul Krabbe who, despite the fact that the team won the Eerste Divisie title last season, was sacked. Boeve was Co Adriaanse's assistant at Ajax but, after the coach was sacked, refused to carry out certain tasks which led to friction with the club and he too left.
Theo de Jong to be new Zwolle trainer?

Theo de Jong looks like the most likely candidate to become Zwolle's new coach, succeeding Paul Krabbe who recently and surprisingly handed in his resignation. Zwolle have also reportedly spoken to Wim Rijsbergen about the job but the former international has turned down the offer. De Jong, who was Go Ahead Eagles last season, would be prepared to take a considerable drop in salary to help the financially weak Zwolle  make a success of their Ere Divisie adventure next season. Zwolle supposedly have a list of candidates including Riijsbergen, De Jong Hans Westerhof and Martin Koopman but the club will only name names when they have started talking to a serious candidate.
Krabbe and Zwolle part ways

In a surprise move trainer Paul Krabbe and FC Zwolle have decided to part ways. Krabbe joined the club last year and won the Eerste Divisie title with them last season but something's happened which has created an unworkable situation. Both sides have agreed not to disclose the reason for his departure and there is as yet noone lined up to replace him.
Van der Vegt gets managerial job at Zwolle

Former Zwolle, Willem II and Udinese player Henry van der Vegt has accepted a job on the technical staff of his old club FC Zwolle. The midfielder has been forced to hang up his boots due to a heart problem which revealed itself in September 2001 during a heart operation and will now apply his experience to a managerial function with the Eerste Divisie side.

Fortuna's Edwin Hermans, whose contract in Sittard runs out this summer, is on the point of signing a contract with Zwolle. The 28 year-old former Eindhoven, FC Volendam and MVV defender has been with Fortuna for the last 5 seasons. He was recently linked with a move to NAC, Willem II and ADO Den Haag but none of the clubs have followed up their initial interest with an offer.

Zwolle has signed the Eerste Divisie's topscorer, Ivan Tzvetkov, who's scored 22 goals for Veendam this season. The 22 year-old striker has signed deal for two years with the Eerste Divisie champions. He was still under contract to Heerenveen, who'd lent him out to Veendam, but is now transfer-free.

Eindhoven beat Zwolle 4-2
The Eerste Divisie Champions were treated to a 4-2 defeat last night and will certainly need to perform better next year if they intend to survive in the Ere Divisie. Domingus Lim-Duan put them ahead halfway through the 1st half with his 9th goal of the season. Eindhoven's Hilmi Mihci levelled in the 35th and then put his team ahead in the 40th with 2 fine goals.  Michel Doesburg made it 2-2 a couple of minutes later with a close- range nodder. In the 2nd half Eindhoven were far superior to Zwolle and this resulted in 2 more goals from the home side. In the 61st minute Tommy Jacobs made it 3-2 and in the 81st Hilmi Mihci made it 4-2 with his 3rd goal of the evening.

Zwolle have extended the contract of midfielder André de Ridder, whose contract runs out this summer, for one more season. The club became Eerste Divisie Champions last weekend and will be playing Ere Divisie football next season.

Zwolle beat rivals Excelsior tonight in a rather turbulent match and, in doing so, became Eerste Divisie champions and gain promotion to the Ere Divisie for the first time in 13 years. It's a well-deserved reward for trainer Paul Krabbe (in his first season as coach) and for the club who've ended the end-of-season playoffs in 2nd place during the last 5 years. Arno Slot, who will be joining NAC next season, scored the 1 and only goal of the evening 10 minutes before the final whistle after both teams had been reduced to 10 men. In the 60th minute of the match Excelsior midfielder Gil Swerts was given his marching orders for socking Henk Steeg and 15 minutes later Remco Schol took an early shower for a foul on Leo Koswal.

Helmond  lose to Zwolle 1-4.
Zwolle are back on top of the Eerste Divisie after last night's 1-4 away win against Helmond. The home side went ahead after Remco Torken netted in the 6th minute. Helmond managed to hold on to the  lead until 10 minutes into the 2nd half when Zwolle's Arjan Bosschart finally equalized. 5 minutes later Remco Schol shot Zwolle into the lead with a 25 meter shot and another 4 minutes later Arne Slot nodded in the 1-3 for his 10th of the season. 10 minutes before the end, 'Man of the Match' Arjan Bosschart scored his 2nd goal of the evening, putting the final 1-4 in the board.

TOP Oss lose to Zwolle  2-3
Eerste Divisie leaders Zwolle paid a visit to bottom of the table TOP Oss, expecting an easy win, but had to fight harder than they had expected for the 3 points. The visitors nearlyd the score in the 1st minute after Schol's header narrowly missed goal. 4 minutes later Zwolle went into the lead after Rahim Oudereagolad headed on a free-kick. In the 25th minute Top Oss were also awarded a free-kick and Patrick Molendijk headed in to level the score. In the 10th minute of the 2nd half Zwolle went back into the lead after Arno Slot hammered in an Arjan Bosschaart 40 meter cross.

Zwolle beat Emmen  2 - 1
Zwolle remain in pole position after their 2-1 win against rivals Emmen. In an exciting match both teams played well and a draw would have been more appropriate. Emmen took the lead in the 8th minute after Marcel Keizer netted from close range. Richard Roelofsen levelled the score in the 39th minute and, only 3 minutes later, he nodded home his second of the evening. The 2nd half was less entertaining than the 1st half with both teams unable to score.

Veendam lose to Zwolle 0-3
Zwolle take over pole position at the top of the Eerste Divisie after their convincing 0-3 win over Veendam. After a 0-0 half time score the visitors decided to pile on some pressure. Arjan Bosschartd for Zwolle just 4 minutes after the break and 20 minutes later he doubled the score with his second goal of the evening. 5 minutes before time, Richard Roelofsen made it 3-0 with his 9th goal of the season, making him club top scorer.

Excitement at the top of the Eerste Divisie with the 3 top clubs all closing to within two points of each other. Zwolle narrowed the gap with Excelsior and move up to 2nd position after last night's 2-0 home win against RBC. Arjan Bosschaart, who up till now had only scored one goal this season, was on target for the Zwollenaars, scoring both goals.

Den Haag drew with Zwolle 1 - 1. This was supposedly this weekend's Eerste Divisie top clash between the no.2 team Den Haag and no.4 team Zwolle. An own goal by the Haagenaars' Van Heiningen gave the visitors the lead in the 13th minute, Peter Hofstede equalizing in the 34th. Roelofsen got sent off for protesting against the goal (calling it offside), also in the 34th.

Zwolle beat  HaarlemZwolle held their promotion aspirations intact this evening after narrowly beating Haarlem 1 - 0 at home. In the 3rd minute Richard Roelofsen picked up a cross from John den Dunnen andd the score for Zwolle with his 8th goal of the season. Despite dominating the match Haarlem were unable to penetrate Zwolle's defence. Both Brutil Hosé, playing his first game for Haarlem, and Didi Longuet missed several great chances to equalize for Haarlem.

Marco Roelofsend the score for the visitors in the 18th minute, receiving the ball from brother Richard. Cambuur levelled the score 1 minute before the break via Sander van Heide in a match where Zwolle dominated the first half and Cambuur the second half.
Zwolle's money problems solved

Eerste Divisie side FC Zwolle have been bailed out of their financial problems by the town's municipal council who've offered the club bank guarantees to the tune of €900.000 Euros. Without it the ailing club would not have been able to close the gap in their budget and would consequently have been without a KNVB (Dutch FA) licence to play next season! The council have also shelved plans to contribute €9 million Euros towards the construction of a new stadium until a feasibility study has been carried out.

Zwolle beat VVV0 - 2. Zwolle could have reduced the gap with table toppers Excelsior to 1 point but VVV had other ideas and a goal by Bernhard Hofstede in the 31st minute and a 2nd by Jans ended Zwolle's run of 5 consecutive wins.

Twente are hiring out Nick Hoekstra to Zwolle for the rest of the season. The defender returned from VVV, where he'd also been on loan, at the beginning of this year after all three parties expressed their disatisfaction with the arrangement. He's played 17 games for VVV and 10 for the "Tukkers".

Zwolle won their 5th game on the row this afternoon thanks to their top-scorer Richard Roelofsen who put away his 7th goal of the season in the dying seconds of the match. Zwolle now look set to win the third period title and are now only three points behind Division 1 leaders Excelsior.

Zwolle have hired Twente's Rahim Ouédraego till the end of the season. The 21 year-old Burkina Faso defender, who's been with the "Tukkers" since 1997, has not seen any 1st team action under John van 't Schip. He replaces Claus Boekweg, who's gone to Groningen, and could well be joined by Dunfermline Athletic's Michel Doesburg. The 33 year-old former Haarlem, Wageningen, SC Heerenveen, AZ and Motherwell defender is transfer-free at the end of the season and will report for a trial with Zwolle on Friday.

Claus Boekweg is leaving Eerste Divisie side Zwolle for his former club Groningen, where he played between 1986 and the summer of 1995. The 35 year-old defender will be reunited with his old trainer Dwight Lodeweges, who was in charge at Zwolle till the end of last season. He's not been 'happy' since Lodeweges departure and welcomes the chance (especially at his age) to play Ere Divisie football once more and  turn out in his old shirt!  Zwolle are said to be looking at Dunfermline Athletic's 33 year-old Michel Doesburg as a possible replacement.
