| Zwolle
trial for Dane Marten Olsen |
11 July 2002
|
|
Newly promoted Zwolle have offered Danish
midfielder Morten Olsen a trial. The 23 year-old was playing for B93 but
is now transfer-free and was on trial with another Danish club AB.
However, they look to be having trouble sorting out the necessary cash to
seal a deal and he could make enough of an impression on Paul Krabbe's
successor Peter Boeve to earn himself
a contract in Holland.

Zwolle threaten to leave Zwolle! |
30 Jun 2002
|
| FC
Zwolle have threatened to leave the town of Zwolle if the local municipal
council refuse to speed up a decision on whether or not to give
permission for the construction of a new stadium. With their recent
promotion to the Ere Divisie in mind the club want to push ahead with
their plans for new accomodation. Although there have been plans for the
last 6 years to build a new stadium, last week the council 'suddenly'
began to have doubts concerning the location itself and the investment of
€16 million Euros involved!

| Theo
de Jong to be new Zwolle trainer? |
23 Jun 2002
|
| Theo de
Jong looks like the most likely candidate to become Zwolle's new coach,
succeeding Paul Krabbe who recently and surprisingly handed in his
resignation. Zwolle have also reportedly spoken to Wim Rijsbergen about
the job but the former international has turned down the offer. De Jong,
who was Go Ahead Eagles last season, would be prepared to take a
considerable drop in salary to help the financially weak Zwolle make
a success of their Ere Divisie adventure next season. Zwolle supposedly
have a list of candidates including Riijsbergen, De Jong Hans Westerhof
and Martin Koopman but the club will only name names when they have
started talking to a serious candidate.

unworkable situation. Both sides have agreed not to disclose the reason
for his departure and there is as yet noone lined up to replace him.

Mihci levelled in the 35th and then put his team ahead in the 40th with 2

|
Zwolle beat rivals Excelsior tonight in a rather
turbulent match and, in doing so, became Eerste Divisie champions and gain
promotion to the Ere Divisie for the first time in 13 years. It's a
well-deserved reward for trainer Paul Krabbe (in his first season as
coach) and for the club who've ended the end-of-season playoffs in 2nd
place during the last 5 years. Arno
Slot, who will be joining NAC next season, scored the 1 and only goal of the
evening 10 minutes before the final whistle after both teams had been
reduced to 10 men. In the 60th minute of the match Excelsior midfielder
Gil Swerts was given his marching orders for socking Henk Steeg and 15
minutes later Remco Schol took an early shower for a foul on Leo Koswal.
