| No
licence yet for TOP Oss and Den Bosch |
05 July 2002
|
The
Dutch FA (KNVB) have rejected Top Oss' and FC Den Bosch's application for
a licence for next season. There are still question marks concerning the
clubs' financial situation but they will be appealing against the
decision. TOP Oss were on the edge of bankruptcy and only a massive effort
has prevented them from going bust. Chairman Paul Lansaat expects that his
club will be granted a licence once the KNVB have examined the 'books' in
order to see how the club managed to achieve a sound budget for next
year.
FC Den Bosch have been given three weeks to clear certain debts they still
owe the Dutch inland revenue (tax-authorities) and the players' pension
fund before they qualify for a licence. The club is considering the sale
of their stadium in order to raise the €1 million Euros needed and they
expect to be granted their licence in the next few days.

2-3.
Although Bas Dreef put the home side ahead after only 60 seconds of
play, the spectators had to wait until the 2nd half for more goals and
some entertainment. Ivo Jongepier levelled for Top Oss in the 55th

bit more respectable for Top Oss, nodding in the 2-3 in the 84th minute.

win against Top Oss. Emiel van Eijkeren scored the one and only goal of the

Haag lost their grip on the match and Top Oss were allowed to control the

16 Feb 2002

| Oss
town council have decided to stretch out a helping hand to Eerste Divisie
TOP Oss and postpone the club's debt (€2 million Euros) to the
municipality till 2004. It gives the club some breathing space, but at a
price, as they must present a business plan by November this year with a
clear plan for survival. There are also a total of €400,000 Euros owed
to third parties and the council hopes that their gesture will encourage
them to reach some kind of understanding with TOP Oss so that they can at
least continue for the rest of this season.

Katwijk to become amateur champions. After a reasonable start, with 7
points from 6 games, TOP Oss have sunk to the bottom of the table and last

| Melvin
Plet on trial
with Den Haag |
27 Nov 2001
|
| TOP
Oss player Melvin Plet is on trial this week with ADO Den Haag after a
conflict with Oss trainer Wim van Zwam left him without a place in squad.
The 27 year-old sees himself as a midfielder but was fielded as a
defender, a difference of opinion which finally led to the clash. He
previously played for Den Haag between 1990 tot 1992 and, after a spell
with amateurs RVC, arrived in the middle of 1995 at Dordrecht'90. Martin
Jol (who'd coached him while at ADO) brought him to play for Roda but he
only played 17 games in two seasons in Kerkrade.
