van Dijk becomes the first managerial casualty of the season - he's been
sacked by Roda JC. Van Dijk has
only been with the Kerkrade club since March when
he replaced Sef Vergoossen who took over at RC Genk. Roda's disastrous start to the season, they've only managed to earn one point out of their first 5 games,
have led to calls for the coach's departure. A new coach has already been installed -
Georges Leekens, the former Belgian national coach has signed a contract
with Roda for 3 years. He was one of a number of candidates during the
summer but dropped out of the running in a disagreement with the club over
money.
