our earlier report, Dick
Advocaat and Willem van Hanegem have been presented to the assembled press
today and will be signing a contract for 3 years with
the Dutch FA (KNVB) to look after Oranje. Advocaat will begin his new job
in a part-time capacity from July this year till the middle of 2003, when his contract with Glasgow Rangers runs out, and
from then on he'll be devoting himself full-time to making sure Holland
qualify for Euro 2004! Until then he'll be released by Glasgow
Rangers whenever Holland are playing one of the 3 or 4 friendlies lined up
for the coming months. It was one of his preconditions that Van
Hanegem (his partner/right-hand man) and Bert Linger would be his
assistants!
