Krist Porte renews contract with VVV

The 32 year-old Belgian midfielder Krist Porte has signed a new contract for one more year with VVV. He joined the First Division side last November, scoring one goal in 18 games. 
Wim Dusseldorp new VVV trainer

Wim Dusseldorp is the new VVV trainer - the 40 year-old former MVV player has signed a contract for the coming 2 years with the Venlo club. In the past he was keepers' trainer and head of training at MVV but is currently working as Sef Vergoossen's assistant at Roda.
Versleijen leaves VVV

VVV's trainer Jan Versleijen is leaving the club at the end of the season. He'd originally planned to leave earlier but agreed to stay on at the request of the squad.
VVV's Van Raalte in last season

Jan van Raalte has decided to end his playing career at the end of this season and turn his attention to social work. He played for Zwolle between 1989 and 1993, went to Cambuur for 2 seasons, turned out for Emmen from 1995 to 1999 and his last two years have been with VVV where he's played 24 matches this season and, in 317 professional matches has scored 10 goals.
Mr.VVV out for rest of season

Maurice Graef, often referred to as Mr.VVV, is out for the rest of the season with a knee cartilage injury he picked up in last weekend's match against Heracles. He hopes to be ready to take part in the pre-season preparations during the summer - next season will be his last. He started his career in 1988 with the club and, apart from a 3 year spell at Roda and NEC, has been with them ever since.
Excelsior draw with VVV 3 - 3

VVV held their own in a 1st half which saw Simr put the home side ahead and Evans equalize. After the break they went further and looked to be heading for victory when Snip and Martens scored in the 57th and 60th, but Lopes scored a 2nd and Michel Kruijer saved a point for the Rotterdammers with a 3rd last minute goal.
VVV offer youth contracts

VVV have made use of the options they had on Boy Seijkens and Dries Driessens - offering Seijkens, who plays for Holland's Under 19 side,  a contract till July 2004 and 19 year-old Driessens one which runs till July 2003. A even younger talent at the club, B-Junior Niels Fleuren, has been signed up till July 2004 with an option to extend the relationship.
Maurice Graaf signs for another year at VVV

VVV's all time top scorer Maurice Graaf (he has 122 goals to his name in 11 seasons at the club) is playing on for another year. After next season he will continue the work he's already begun as assistant youth trainer, while also helping out on the commercial side of the club's activities.
VVV lose to Heerenveen 1 - 0

The Frieslanders went home with a quarter final confrontation with Feyenoord in their own Abe Leenstra stadium to look forward to. It took Mika Nurmela's goal in the 77th minute to make sure of victory but they didn't really have to work hard to contain the Toto division side. VVV did their best, and had some moments close to the end when an upset could have occurred, but the difference in quality was too great.
Den Bosch VVV match banned by Mayor after shooting

The match between Den Bosch and VVV has been banned by the local mayor after a well known FC Den Bosch supporter was shot on Saturday morning by police. They wanted to question him beacuse he had apparently been threatening a 'neighbour'. 
Emmen's goalie Migchelsen moves to VVV

Theo Migchelsen, 2nd choice in goal for Emmen (1st choice is the Dutch Under 18 goalie Jelle ten Rouwelaar) has signed a contract until the end of 2002 with VVV, who have had problems finding a suitable keeper after their coach decided that Rein Baart was no longer good enough and his replacement (fulltime postman Wim Jacobs) didn't have enough time to train. 
VVV sign up Walid Khemili

The former Den Bosch defender Walid Khemili has signed up with VVV until July 2002 with an option for another 2 years. Trainer Jan Versleijen decided to give him a chance after seeing him in action while on trial.
