German side Borussia München Gladbach are all on the point of getting out

runs out in 2002, joined the Frieslanders in 1997 but has appeared in only
21 matches during those 4 seasons. |

02 Apr 2001
|
| Volendam
lost to Veendam and can forget their promotion pretensions - they'll have
to fight it out in the end-of-season playoffs for a chance to go up.
Patrick Hobbelen's 65th minute goal gave the Groningers 3 valuable points
and, on this showing and if their improvement continues, they should be
able to improve on their current healthy 13th place before the end of the
season. |

| Excelsior
remain Toto leaders after 3 - 1 over Veendam |
17 Dec 2000
|
| The
other club from Rotterdam (after Feyenoord and Sparta) remain top of the
Toto division as the halfway mark is reached (and football has a short
break here in Holland). Even without David Connolly, recently moved to
Feyenoord, they proved too strong for lowly Veendam. After 1st half goals,
from Geert van Ouden for the home team and Erwin Buurmeijer for the
visitors, the match was decided in the 2nd 45 minutes by goals from (wait
for it) Santinho Lopes de Manteiro. Excelsior are now 5 points ahead of Den
Bosch, who couldn't play their match. |

Misha Saldend the score for the young team in the 35th minute (at
the end of last season all the 'old crew' left leaving a hungry group of
young players under a new, untried trainer and little money. Playing with

Wisman a successful first season before it's halfway through. Ivan
Tzvetkov got one back for Veendam, but the damage was done. |
