| A
cross border Euro-League (also known as the Atlantic League) comprised of
teams from the so-called second-tier nations such as Holland, Scotland,
Belgium, Portugal and the Scandinavian countries could soon be a reality.
Officials from the clubs involved met in Amsterdam last Friday
to put together proposals which will be shortly presented to UEFA. It
looks as though 16 will be the magic number of clubs taking part - whether
or not that will be 'sweet sixteen' remains to be seen. A sharp
response from the super rich clubs who have already proposed their own
breakaway league will undoubtedly follow. For more details on this story
