| Chelsea's
Dutch trio played a decisive role in the club's success against Manchester
United in Saturday's Charity Shield Cup. The club's new striker Jimmy
Floyd Hasselbaink, demonstrating once again how well he fits into any team
he plays for, scored early in the game. Former Ajax defender Mario
Melchiot, in his second season at the London club, added a second goal in
the second half. Dutch goalkeeper Ed de Gooi (who let in the least amount
of goals last season in England's Division One) was on top form once
again. He has just extended his contract with Chelsea for another three
years.
