sponsor pulls out - NUON talks off |

| The
proposed talks between Karel Aalbers and Vitesse sponsor NUON are off. The
mysterious 'sponsor' that 'Our Karel' had found willing to invest in the
club and get them out of their difficulties has called it a day. NUON had
set a deadline of 18.00 by which time they wanted to know the name of the
investor. It came and went and then Mr. Aalbers announced that the
'sponsor' had pulled out. Both sides have blamed each other for the
collapse of negotiations which have taken weeks to get to this frustrating
point of no return. Or is it really the end - the outside world has
seen so many deadlines, stories, conditions, preconditions, ultimatums,
accusations and counter-accusations that it's practically impossible to
decipher the true meaning of the events we've witnessed. Personally, I
can't imagine that the last word has been spoken - undoubtedly we'll hear
more in the coming weeks until the final solution to the club's
misfortunes has been 'found'. We'll keep you posted! |
