sign Emmen's Gerard Kocks |

| Heracles
Almelo have signed midfielder Gerard Kocks on a contract for next season
and joins ex-teammate Berry Hoogeveen who made the same move earlier this
season. He has played in 85 matches and scored 5 goals for BVO Emmen since
1995 but was not offered an extension to his contract. |

Kolmschot, otherwise known as Mr. Heracles, has had his contract extended
for one more year. They were originally going to let the 32 year-old
defender, who's scored 7 goals in the 341 games he's played since his
arrival in 1986/87, leave the club but the new trainer Gert-Jan Verbeek
has persuaded them to keep him on. |

Bijl, former Heerenveen and Utrecht midfielder, is almost certain to
become Gert-Jan Verbeek's assistant when he moves to Heracles. The 36
year-old ended his playng career in 1996 and is currently gaining
trainer-experience at Heerenveen, where Verbeek is also still
employed. |

Verbeek, currently Foppe de Haan's assistant at Heerenveen, is to take
over as Heracles' trainer at the end of the season. Fritz Korbach has been
unable to get much out of the team so far this season (they're currently
sitting in an unimpressive 11th place) and Verbeek (on a two-year
contract) will hopefully fare better. |

and trainer Fritz Korbach are to part by mutual agreement at the end of
this season after two years in which the club have climbed to the middle
of the Toto table. |

have started talks with Helmond's Roel Buikema. The 24 year-old striker is
transfer-free at the end of this season and could well make the move,
although Helmond would be equally happy to extend his stay. |

loyal few (1268 attended) watched Haarlem get their 6th point in 5 games
and finally get off the bottom rung of the table. Veendam are now last
because they've let more goals in than Haarlem (22 as opposed to 20).
Mendel Witzenhausen scored for Haarlem in the 66th minute from a penalty.
Robert Demirel equalized 5 minutes later for Heracles. |

| Zwolle
swept aside Heracles 5-1 away in Almelo. The home team surprised the
visitors from Overijssel in the 3rd minute with a goal by Dennis te Braak
but Arjan Bosschaart scored twice before halftime for Zwolle. Heracles
tried to get into the match duing the 2nd half but were too disorganised
to really threaten - Richard Roelofsen, John den Dunnen and Claus Boekweg
(from a penalty) scored one each to take Zwolle, as last First Division
side, into the quarter finals and a home match against Twente. |

scale of this home defeat for Emmen will have come as a shock. Heracles
surprised themselves, after the home side started the ball rolling with
their only goal (Berry Hoogeveen), with three goals from Rik
Platvoet, an own goal Xmas present from Emmen's Hegeman, and a 5th from
Becker. |
